TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A world renowned soprano who sang God Bless America at the 2023 Indianapolis 500 will be performing with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra this December.
According to a release from the THSO, Angela Brown will be joining the symphony for their December 2 Christmas concert at Tilson Auditorium on the campus of Indiana State University.
“I am so honored to present this amazing artist for the third time in Terre Haute after her international successes. She will be singing ‘Sweet Little Jesus Boy,’ ‘O Holy Night,’ and many other familiar favorites,” Artistic Director and Conductor of THSO David Bowden said. “This is a huge privilege for the THSO to present her again now at the peak of her career and a terrific opportunity for local audiences to hear one of the great artists of our time perform with our outstanding local professional orchestra.”
“She has graced the leading opera and symphonic stages on six continents including Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, National Opera of Paris, The Metropolitan Opera, and more. She has been presented in solo recitals throughout the United States, Canada, Spain, New Zealand, China, and Africa.”

Brown recently was seen during broadcasts of the Indianapolis 500 as she sang America The Beautiful in May, she has also sang with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Brown also founded the nonprofit organization Morning Brown Inc. which is dedicated to programming with multicultural role models to inspire the next generation of singers.
