Burnley chairman Alan Pace has compared manager Vincent Kompany to ‘the most beautiful girl in town’ which may encourage potential suitors.
The American businessman made the analogy when discussing how to hold on to his star head coach amid interest from a number of Premier League sides.

Kompany’s first season in the Turf Moor dugout saw him achieve the Championship title with a giant 101 points, the fifth most in the competition’s history.
Having been a huge name for his trophy-filled playing career with Manchester City, Kompany’s achievements haven’t gone unnoticed back in the top flight.
Tottenham were understood to have been interested in the Belgian’s services, while there were links to Chelsea, and replacing Pep Guardiola at City may be further down the line.
However, Kompany put paid to all of those rumours when he signed a new deal until 2028 following his side’s promotion celebrations.

Pace, who was proved to have made a genius decision by hiring Kompany, was honest when discussing how long the former defender might stay.
“It’s not a worry for me that I’m ever going to fire him because that’s a different story,” he told BBC Sport.
“My worry is like I explained to him, It’s like dating the most beautiful girl in town and knowing that there’s probably no chance she’s ever going to marry you.
“But, everyone else wants to marry her. So it’s like how long can you date? How long can you stay together? How long can you be a couple?
“I hope it’s for a very, very, very long time. But again that’s kind of up to her.”
That honesty suggests Kompany may well be up for grabs further down the line…
