POTTSTOWN PA – Members of the Pottstown High School Concert Band (at top), and its Concert Choir (above), have returned with award trophies and judges’ high praise following their recent performance during the 2023 Music in the Parks Festival at Dorney Park in Allentown.

High school Choir Director Adella Brady reported the students received “outstanding compliments and performance notes,” and both the band and choir “walked away with a rating of ‘excellence’ and beautiful trophies to match” (above). The awards promptly went on display in the high school trophy case, she added.
The weekend events were part of a series of similar concerts presented nationwide, which involve only selected schools for performances.
Musicians make history, too
Some student musicians also could be seen and heard Monday (May 29, 2023) during Pottstown’s Memorial Day parade, as it made its way down East High Street. The high school and Pottstown Middle School marching bands combined for that event to form a single 150-musician unit, in what the school district labeled as a “first-ever unified performance.”
High school band director said the two bands have been practicing regularly at 7 a.m. in the high school stadium to prepare for the parade.
