The latest season of “Love is Blind” had beautiful brides, brutal breakups—and a Buckeye in the midst.
Ohio State University graduate Josh Demas, 31, was one of the hopeful cast members looking for love on the fourth season of the Netflix reality show, which took place in Seattle and debuted on March 24.
Demas did find love—and a whole bunch of drama.
After dating multiple women in “pods,” or rooms separated by a wall so contestants can’t judge each other by their appearance, the project engineer connected with 27-year-old dental assistant Jackelina Bonds. However, Bonds accepted the proposal of another man, 27-year-old marketing manager Marshall Glaze.
Bonds eventually dumped Glaze and quickly began dating Demas. The new couple has been criticized by “Love is Blind” viewers, based on Bonds’ treatment of Glaze on the show, and Demas’ actions as he intentionally set out to lure Bonds away from Glaze.
“I am only human, and have made some mistakes in the process of filming the show that I can recognize and take accountability for,” Demas wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “I have never claimed to be toxic or have wanted to be known as toxic and I’m sorry for the people I hurt in the process of everything.”
Josh Demas was a star athlete at Westerville North High School and Ohio State
Years before Demas was on TV, he was a star wrestler at Westerville North High School, where he was a four-time Ohio state placewinner, according to his biography on ohiostatebuckeyes.com. As a freshman, he wrestled at 130 pounds and finished second. As a sophomore, he wrestled at 145 pounds and finished third. He was a state champion during his junior and senior years, where he wrestled at 152 pounds and 171 pounds, respectively.
He attended Ohio State from 2010 to 2015, according to the school’s registrar’s office. He studied economics and continued his wrestling career as a scholar athlete. He showed off Big Ten and national championship rings on Instagram in 2015.

At an appearance on the “Love is Blind” reunion on Sunday, Demas and Bonds confirmed they are still dating and living together with a dog and fish named Rick.
